He read the damage report as he was stroking the mane of his horse, partially in order to clean it, but really just to take a moment and enjoy the damage they had caused.

DAMAGE REPORT AFTER GOL’DAARTH ATTACK - Elesdreia, Ellari encampment

6 buildings destroyed.

113 people killed.

Survivors: none

Chance of recovery: impossible

END OF DAMAGE REPORT

When the tribe was originally formed, they were frowned upon for using horses as their preferred mounts. Using horses meant the men were forced to do the battle for leadership themselves as opposed to the traditional battle of mounts. Horses were scorned as far less likely to provide the protection a bear or wolf would give during combat. But they had proved, plenty of times over, that they were a tribe to be feared. These were the first times they had done so with him as their alpha. With him as their leader.

END OF DAMAGE REPORT

“I’ve done it’, he murmured. ‘You did indeed Gor.’ His childhood friend stepped towards him and put his hand on Gor’s shoulder. ‘You know you should be calling me Alpha by now, right?’ Gor winked. ‘You were born on the same day as me, originated from the same tribe, and we’ve been through everything together. And you’re pulling rank on me on your second day? Keep dreaming.’ He laughed, raised Gor up by the shoulder, and pulled him into a brief hug, slinging his arm over Gor’s shoulder. 2 days, 3 victories. This was a promising start.
